Fruitful Leaders

Encouraging comments and reviews coming in for Fruitful Leaders. Two pastors rang yesterday to say that having read it they are ordering in bulk to use with church leadership teams and home group leaders. The book is being recommended at the Keswick Convention (several chapters being based on the School of Leadership I ran there last year).

Rose Dowsett (OMF International, Vice-Chair of the World Evangelical Alliance Mission Commission)

Fruitful Leaders rings with the passion of a disciple who loves God, his gospel and his people. Marcus insists that the most fundamental quality needed in authentic spiritual leadership is a constantly refreshed love relationship with the Lord, bubbling up into joy and worship. He tackles honestly the challenges to that, and offers practical, compassionate wisdom on how to deal with them. He urges churches to invest deeply in developing a new generation of godly leaders, an acute need throughout the global church, as well as in caring for current leaders. Read this book – and buy copies for your church leaders too.

John Stevens (Director, Fellowship of Independent Evangelical Churches)
In a punchy, readable style Marcus combines incisive biblical exposition with anecdote, empirical evidence, practical guidance, pastoral wisdom, and opportunities for personal reflection and
self-assessment. He speaks to everyone – leaders, trainers, aspiring leaders, congregation members – encouraging and challenging us all to make the development and support of spiritual leaders a high priority. If every congregation were captivated by the author’s infectious passion for God and his
glory, the church would be better able to identify and deploy the gifted people Christ has given to it. The cause of the gospel would be strengthened, as people are prepared to do the works of service that build up the body.

Jonathan Lamb (Director of Langham Preaching, Langham Partnership International, and Chairman of the Keswick Convention)

Given the growing leadership crisis across the churches, this book provides a refreshing and realistic agenda for healthy and productive change in churches large and small. Here’s an approach that will release many more people into effective Christian ministry of all kinds: I highly commend it.
