What a morning! I just had the lovely experience of teaching people from 19 countries about the greatness of the glory of the grace of God in Christ from Galatians and Romans, and watched hearts being warmed and affections being ignited for Christ.
All my friends think that I am like a broken gramophone record on the subject of glory and grace. I don't care. There is no other gospel. I search for words to describe the enormity of it and am lost in an ocean of wonder. Like a tiny sailing skiff dwarfed by the immensity of the panorama I am trying to contemplate. My heart was simultaneously filled, expanded, flooded and overwhelmed by seeing God at work.
Any preachers reading this - preach the greatness of God's grace to your people's hearts this week. And every week. Don't do anything else. If you can't see how the Bible text of your passage lends itself to take Christ and his grace as its goal and terminus, search harder. And if it really isn't valid from your text, then preach the sermon you must, and then do another one on grace! He will overwhelm you too.
And God raised us up with Christ and seated us with Him in the heavenly realms in Christ Jesus, in order that in the coming ages he might show the incomparable riches of his grace, expressed in his kindness to us in Christ Jesus
Eph 2:6-7
He is KIND (I don't preach this enough). He has done it ALL. And his grace is INCOMPARABLY RICH THROUGH ALL AGES. If this is what God obsesses about, how can we ever do any different?
