If pagan Ephesian idol makers were unable to separate out their pagan object of worship, their approach to their occupation and their money, how much less should we be able to separate worshipping the living God from our occupation, our money, our use of our homes and our whole identity. We have no identity outside of Christ anymore, so why do people in churches sometimes look like they are flirting with Christianity or playing religious games with God?

Feuerbach was an influential secularist whose thought was widely held to have demolished religion. He claimed to show that the Christian God and Heaven are merely the projection of our own best ideals. Therefore God only exists in as much as He is the object of our faith and mature reflection will reveal that to be truly human we need to replace love for God with love for Man and faith in God with faith in Man.

Hazel Blears said, 'We live in a secular democracy.' But does she live in an 'outside, inside' ? Let me explain. The concept of secular democracy that she has articulated, has on one side, 'real freedom' and on the other 'the closed system' of secularism. We need to ask some questions about this. What do I mean? Secularism is perspective. Democracy, stable and free, neither needs it nor asks for it. Though some think it means 'neutrality in public life' secularism actually means, 'a doctrine that rejects religion and religious considerations.' It is at root from the family of perspectives that see the universe as only matter, it's a naturalistic (atheistic) life and worldview.
